The historic Charlotte 1.5-mile banked oval built in 1959 by Bruton Smith was one of the first Super Speedways. Today, there\u2019s not only an adjacent four-lane quarter-mile dragstrip, but an incredible \u201croval\u201d track that combines portions of the banked oval Speedway with an infield road course to create a 2.28-mile, 17-turn \u201cstreet circuit on steroids!\u201d In 2019, the road course was updated by widening the backstretch chicane for safer side-by-side racing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
