Official Racing Fuel Sponsor of SpeedTour to Award $20,000 to TA2’s Top-Performing Driver Under 25

CHARLOTTE (October 14, 2025) — The Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli is pleased to announce that Sunoco Race Fuels, the Official Racing Fuel Sponsor of SpeedTour, will sponsor the 2025 Young Gun Award. The Sunoco Race Fuels Young Gun Award will reward the season’s top points earner under the age of 25 in the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series with a $20,000 cash prize at Trans Am’s year-end awards gala.

The Young Gun Award was introduced in 2022 as a way to foster competition between the series’ young, up-and-coming drivers, and it has since become one of the most highly-contested titles in the series, as the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series is a proving ground for young talent.

In 2022 and 2023, the prize was awarded to 2023 CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series champion Brent Crews, who has since gone on to win races in the ARCA Menards Series, in addition to forming his own NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series team. Crews has tallied 11 victories in the Trans Am Series, and his 2023 championship earned him the title of youngest champion in Trans Am Series history.

Thomas Annunziata was the recipient of the $20,000 prize in 2024. Annunziata has four Trans Am victories, and has also gone on to find Victory Lane in the ARCA Menards Series. He has made nearly twenty starts between the NASCAR Xfinity and NASCAR Truck Series, and has claimed a full-time ARCA ride for 2026.

The 2025 Sunoco Race Fuels Young Gun Awards standings are currently being led by 15-year-old superstar Tristan McKee, who has three victories so far this season. McKee leads the point standings in the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series and also tops the Rookie of the Year points. Should he clinch the TA2 title, he would dethrone Crews as Trans Am’s youngest champion, while also becoming the first driver in history to win the championship, Young Gun Award and Rookie of the Year honors in the same season. However, McKee still faces steep competition from second-place Sam Corry.

“I couldn’t be more pleased to have Sunoco sponsor the Sunoco Race Fuels Young Gun Award,” said Trans Am President Andy Lally. “Since its inception, the Young Gun Award has been a barometer for predicting motorsports’ up-and-coming stars. We are proud that the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series has become such an important step in the driver development process, and we are excited to continue to recognize the young talent in our series with the help of long-time SpeedTour partner, Sunoco.”

“Sunoco Race Fuels couldn’t be happier to be a part of the Young Gun Award to help build the future of Trans Am,” said Russ Bradford, Sales Manager for Sunoco Performance Products. “With Trans Am being so ingrained in our heritage, as well as our current business, we are just proud to be a part of one of the best racing series in the world. We look forward to continuing our support of the series, as well as the Young Guns of the sport.”

The Sunoco Race Fuels Young Gun Award will be presented at the Trans Am awards gala on November 2, following the season finale at Circuit of The Americas. The Trans Am Series next hits the track October 17-19, when the series will make its debut at Barber Motorsports Park with the Barber SpeedTour.
